Product Description
IOTA 9109 is a polyether–alkyl co-modified siloxane copolymer. It can be used as an alternative to Shin-Etsu KF-6048 and Evonik EM 90. This product offers multiple functionalities: it acts as a highly efficient emulsifier and surface tension depressant, delivering significant performance at low use levels. It also exhibits foaming capability, forming stable and dense foam systems.
In hair styling formulations, it functions as a resin plasticizer and wetting agent, imparting a soft, smooth, and silky feel to the hair. In addition, the product shows excellent compatibility with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients and provides moisturizing and wetting benefits in skincare formulations.

Properties and Applications
IOTA 9109 is designed as a W/O or W/(Si+O) type emulsifier and exhibits excellent compatibility with organic oils and ester-based ingredients. It is particularly suitable for liquid formulations and is widely used in personal care products such as hair sprays, other leave-in hair care products, shampoos, skincare lotions, and shaving creams. It is also applicable in household cleansing and personal care products.
The specific dosage should be determined through formulation trials based on the desired performance and application requirements.
Packaging and Storage
1. Supplied in 20 kg and 200 kg plastic drums.
2. When stored at low temperatures, IOTA 9109 silicone fluid may become cloudy and solidify into a soft, wax-like material. This is a characteristic of silicone glycol copolymers. Upon heating, it will melt back into a liquid, and repeated solidification–melting cycles will not affect product quality.
3. This product is classified as non-toxic and non-hazardous and may be transported as general cargo.
4. Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool and dry place. Shelf life: 2 years.
