Product Description
IOTA 99331 is a dispersion of high–molecular-weight polyether silicone in cyclic silicone oil. It can be used as an alternative to DOWSIL™ 5225C Formulation Aid and is specifically designed as a dispersing aid for water-in-cyclic-silicone (W/Si) formulations.

As a formulation aid for dispersing both polar and non-polar ingredients, it enables non-polar materials to dissolve in the silicone oil continuous phase while allowing polar materials to be incorporated into the internal aqueous phase, thereby improving formulation stability and compatibility.

Properties and Applications

IOTA 99331 is a dispersion of high-molecular-weight polyether silicone and serves as a high-performance formulation aid. It is widely used in cosmetic products such as emollient and moisturizing formulations, sunscreens, antiperspirants, and deodorants. In water-in-oil (W/O) systems, it functions not only as an efficient stabilizer but also helps improve the clarity and transparency of the emulsion system.

This product is suitable for a wide range of personal care applications, including color cosmetics, skincare products, sunscreens, deodorants, and antiperspirants. Before use, it should be mixed thoroughly. During emulsification, it is recommended to slowly add the aqueous phase into the oil phase while stirring rapidly to form a uniform system. Increasing the stirring speed helps enhance emulsion stability, while increasing the water phase ratio can raise system viscosity.

If no solid ingredients are present in the formulation, emulsification can be carried out at room temperature without additional heating. For improved stability, the use of a homogenizer is recommended, and the addition of 1%–2% electrolytes such as sodium chloride to the aqueous phase can significantly enhance storage stability.


The recommended dosage is 4%–12% of the total formulation, adjustable according to product type and performance requirements.


Packaging and Storage

1. Supplied in 25 kg plastic drums or 200 kg steel drums.

2. During transportation and storage, protect from moisture and prevent contamination by acids, alkalis, or other impurities. Avoid direct sunlight and rain exposure. Containers must be tightly sealed after each use.

3. This product is classified as non-toxic and non-hazardous and may be transported as general cargo.

4. Shelf life: 1 year.
