Product Description
IOTA 91002 is a highly cross-linked product obtained by co-hydrolysis of tetraalkylsiloxane and trimethyl ethoxysilane, containing a small amount of ethoxy and hydroxyl groups. It is an ideal replacement for Dow Corning MQ1600 and Wacker TMS803. With low fine dust content and uniform particle size, it exhibits excellent rheological properties and can be blended with volatile silicones and dimethicone. It is widely used in sunscreens, skincare, color cosmetics, and hair care products. The product is hydrophobic, film-forming, and moisturizing, providing long-lasting and water-resistant effects.

Properties and Applications:
IOTA 91002 is a 100% trimethylsiloxysilicate resin, a high-performance, solvent-free film former in an easy-to-use flake form. It forms a lightweight, breathable, non-sticky film on skin or hair, providing excellent transfer resistance, wash resistance, and sebum resistance for long-lasting effects. In sunscreen formulations, it significantly enhances water resistance and helps maintain SPF stability.
This silicone resin is compatible with a wide range of silicones and organic carriers and can dissolve in various non-aromatic organic oils or silicones (including volatile silicones and low-viscosity dimethicone) at concentrations up to 50% or higher. To avoid forming difficult-to-redispersed aggregates, it is recommended to slowly add the resin to the oil phase under stirring. Once dissolved, it can effectively increase the viscosity of the carrier system (depending on resin concentration and oil type), improving the structural stability and sensory feel of emulsions, lipsticks, and other products.
It is suitable for use in color cosmetics, skincare, and hair care products. In color cosmetics (e.g., long-wear lipsticks, foundations, mascaras), the recommended usage is 2%–10%. The resin should be fully dissolved in a suitable non-aromatic organic solvent or silicone before being incorporated into the final formulation to ensure uniform dispersion and optimal performance.
Packaging and Storage
1. Packaged in 20 kg cardboard drums.
2. During storage and transport, prevent moisture, acids, bases, and other contaminants.
3. Non-toxic and non-hazardous for transport.
4. Shelf life: 2 years
5. Store in a cool place. After opening, always reseal to prevent evaporation and resin precipitation, and use the product as soon as possible.
