1. Research and development breakthrough: Significantly improved low-temperature performance
A domestic new materials research and development team has made a significant breakthrough. The all-ethyl structured silicone oil they developed can still maintain its flow performance at -60 ℃, with a 30% reduction in low-temperature viscosity compared to traditional products. It has also been certified by the National Lubricant Testing Center. This technology, through the optimized design of molecular chains, effectively supposes the phenomenon of low-temperature crystallization, opening up a new path for the application of ethyl silicone oil in low-temperature scenarios, especially suitable for fields such as wind power and polar engineering.


2. Production process optimization: Enhance output and quality
To increase the output of ethyl silicone oil, improvements have been made in multiple aspects. In terms of the synthesis process, solid superacid catalysts were adopted to replace traditional acid-base catalysts, which enhanced the ring-opening polymerization efficiency of cyclosiloxane, with a yield of ≥90% and an acid value of ≤0.01mg KOH/g. At the same time, the continuous production process was promoted, and the production capacity was increased by more than 30% compared with the batch process. In terms of production equipment, the combined technology of centrifugal extraction and vacuum fractionation has been introduced to reduce the residue of low-boiling substances and increase the conversion rate of monomers. Additionally, a tubular activated carbon decolorizer is adopted to remove odors and impurities.

3. Application Expansion: Emerging fields are making their mark
With the development of technology, the application of ethyl silicone oil in emerging fields has gradually expanded. In the biomedical field, its excellent chemical stability and low toxicity make it expected to be more widely applied in some medical devices, such as as insulating and sealing materials inside pacemakers, catheters, etc. In terms of high-performance material modification, ethyl silicone oil can improve the performance of materials, enhancing their weather resistance, wear resistance, etc.


4. Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development: Future Development Directions
Under the backdrop of increasingly strict environmental protection requirements, the production and application of ethyl silicone oil are also moving towards an environmentally friendly and sustainable development direction. On the one hand, researchers are committed to developing more environmentally friendly production processes to reduce the discharge of wastewater and waste gas. On the other hand, efforts should be made to promote the development of recycling and reprocessing technologies for waste silicone oil to enhance resource utilization efficiency and reduce resource waste.
