New Hydroxyl-Terminated Methyl Vinyl Silicone Oil Launched, Bringing Technological Breakthroughs to Rubber Processing
(Press Announcement) Recently, a new type of hydroxyl-terminated methyl vinyl silicone oil with dual functions was officially put into mass production and launched on the market. Independently developed by a domestic silicone enterprise, this product effectively solves the technical pain points of traditional silicone oil in rubber processing with its unique molecular structure design, providing a new solution for the efficient upgrading of the rubber industry. It has attracted the attention and trial use of many rubber products enterprises upon its launch.
It is reported that this new type of methyl silicone oil is a colorless and transparent liquid with a viscosity of ≤35mm²/S at 25℃ and excellent fluidity. Its core advantage lies in the simultaneous presence of two functional groups, hydroxyl and vinyl, in its molecular structure. The hydroxyl group can react with the active groups of fumed silica to play a role in structure control; the vinyl group can undergo cross-linking reaction with the vinyl group in raw rubber to achieve "one agent, dual effects", perfectly solving the industry problem that traditional single-function silicone oil is difficult to balance structure control and cross-linking reinforcement.
Technical test data show that all indicators of this product meet high industry standards, including vinyl content stably ranging from 6.5 to 7.5mol%, hydroxyl content ≥6.0%, water content controlled below 0.35%, and flash point ≥60℃. From the trial feedback, after adding this product, the mechanical properties and processing stability of the rubber compound have been significantly improved. The technical director of a tire manufacturing enterprise said that after using the new silicone oil, the fluctuation of Mooney viscosity of the mixed rubber decreased by 15%, the tear strength of the finished product increased by 8%, and the production efficiency was also significantly improved. At present, the product has achieved mass production, and can also provide customized services for vinyl content according to customers' special needs, and is expected to gradually become the mainstream additive product in the rubber processing field.
