Compared to methyl vinyl silicone rubber and fluororubber, fluorosilicone rubber exhibits excellent properties in terms of oil resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance. This rubber material maintains its excellent durability over a wide temperature range (-68°C to 232°C), especially in non-polar media, where its performance is particularly outstanding. It can be said to be the only elastomer that maintains good performance under these conditions.
It is particularly noteworthy that fluorosilicone rubber also has excellent resistance to methanol-containing gasoline. Even in a mixed system of gasoline and methanol (such as 85% gasoline by volume and 15% methanol by volume), the hardness, tensile strength, and volume change of its vulcanized rubber remain within a very small range. After a 500-hour immersion test, its physical properties have barely changed. This characteristic makes fluorosilicone rubber have a very broad application prospect in applications involving gasoline and methanol, such as automotive fuel systems and chemical equipment.
In summary, fluorosilicone rubber has excellent oil, solvent, and chemical resistance, as well as excellent durability, especially in the presence of methanol-containing gasoline. This makes it an ideal elastomeric material that can maintain its excellent performance under various extreme conditions.
