The silicone resin electronic packaging market is experiencing a dual-driven boom of domestic substitution and technological iteration
The market demand has soared, technological iteration has accelerated, policy dividends have been released, and the regional cluster effect has become prominent

1. Surging market demand: New energy and 5G have driven an increase of tens of billions of yuan
From 2025 to 2030, the market size of silicone resin in China's electronic and electrical field is expected to soar from 31 billion yuan to 52 billion yuan, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.2%. The core growth drivers come from three major areas: The annual demand for photovoltaic module packaging materials exceeds 800,000 tons, and the usage of sealant for double-glass modules has increased by 37% due to the popularization of bifacial power generation technology. The demand for potting compound for power battery packs of new energy vehicles and insulating materials for motors has soared along with production (planned to reach 15 million units by 2025). The construction of 5G base stations has driven the annual growth rate of demand for low dielectric silicone resin (dielectric constant < 3.0) to exceed 25%, which is used for heat dissipation and insulation of millimeter-wave devices.

2. Accelerated technological iteration: From high-temperature resistance to functional composite breakthroughs
The technological research and development focuses on three major directions: High-temperature resistant silicone resin (long-term temperature resistance > 350℃) enhances thermal oxidation stability by introducing an aromatic heterocyclic structure; Thermal conductive silicone resin (thermal conductivity > 1.5W/m · K) adopts nano-ceramic filler dispersion technology to solve the problem of easy sedimentation of traditional products. Uv-cured silicone resins (such as UV CIPG in-line formed sealing rings) are rapidly cured in 30 seconds through 395nm ultraviolet light, with a compression and rebound rate exceeding 90%, replacing the traditional thermal curing process. Bio-based silicone resins (such as degradable epoxy/silicone hybrid resins) are based on natural raw materials like eugenol, taking into account both low dielectric properties and environmental friendliness.

3. Policy Dividend Release: Dual Empowerment of domestic substitution and industrial upgrading
National policies are accelerating industry transformation through "precise drip irrigation". The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Guidance Catalogue for the First Batch Application Demonstration of Key New Materials (2025 Edition)" has listed electronic-grade silicone resin as a "bottleneck" material, covering a 30% subsidy for research and development costs, to stimulate the R&D investment intensity of leading enterprises to exceed 4.2%. At the local level, the Yangtze River Delta offers preferential energy consumption index replacement (1:1.2) for deep processing projects of organosilicon, while the Pearl River Delta promotes the domestic production rate of high-purity silicone resin for semiconductor packaging from 45% to 58% through the "chain leader system". In addition, green manufacturing standards (such as a VOCs emission limit of 100mg/m³) are forcing the transformation of traditional solvent-based production capacity, and the proportion of water-based silicone resins is expected to exceed 45% by 2030.

4. The regional cluster effect is prominent: driven by the dual cores of the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta
Relying on the National New Industrialization Demonstration Base for silicon materials, the Yangtze River Delta has formed a complete industrial chain from metallic silicon smelting, monomer synthesis to composite modification. In 2023, the capacity concentration reached 61.4%. Enterprises in Suzhou, Wuxi and other places have achieved breakthroughs in domestic substitution in the field of electronic-grade liquid silicone resin. The Pearl River Delta, with Shenzhen and Dongguan as its core, focuses on high value-added products: Shenzhen enterprises have developed nano-composite silicone resin (with added silica particles), which has increased the light transmittance of LED packaging to 98%. Dongguan industrial parks have accelerated the industrialization of cutting-edge technologies such as UV-curable silicone rubber through an integrated model of "R&D + pilot production + mass production". The export structure of the two major regions is significantly differentiated: The Southeast Asian market mainly focuses on basic insulating resins (with a unit price of 80-120 yuan per kilogram), while Europe prefers flame-retardant products (with a unit price exceeding 300 yuan per kilogram). The total export volume in 2024 increased by 27% year-on-year.
