The global vinyl silicone oil market continues to grow, and green transformation has become a key trend

1.The Asia-Pacific region leads the expansion of production capacity
As the world's largest consumer market, the Asia-Pacific region, relying on its electronic manufacturing and automotive industrial clusters, is accelerating the layout of vinyl silicone oil production capacity. By 2025, the domestic new production capacity is expected to reach 100,000 tons, mainly concentrated in the high-performance product sector, and the industry concentration (CR5) has risen to over 62%. The newly-built production line of a certain enterprise with an annual output of 4,400 tons of vinyl silicone oil adopts fully automated production equipment. The daily output of a single line can reach 15 tons, and the product performance can rival that of imported high-end products.

2. Progress has been made in the research and development of bio-based vinyl silicone oil
In response to the requirements of environmental protection policies, the research and development of bio-based vinyl silicone oil has entered a substantive stage. By using renewable raw materials to replace traditional petroleum-based materials, the biodegradation rate of the new bio-based silicone oil exceeds 50%, while maintaining mechanical properties comparable to those of traditional products. At present, the relevant technologies have completed the pilot production and are expected to achieve large-scale production by 2026, providing more sustainable solutions for fields such as packaging and agriculture.

3. Policy support promotes sustainable production
The increasingly strict environmental protection policies in various countries are forcing industries to undergo green transformation. A new domestic project has adopted the "dehumidification + two-stage granular activated carbon adsorption" process to control the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) below 1.35 tons per year. At the same time, it has built an accident emergency pool and a groundwater monitoring system to ensure environmental safety during the production process. The government also encourages enterprises to develop environmentally friendly silicone oil through special investment in science and technology (expected to exceed 10 billion yuan by 2025), promoting the extension of the industrial chain towards high-end.

4. Demand in high-end application fields has soared
In the fields of aerospace and smart wearable devices, the high-performance properties of vinyl silicone oil have been fully exploited. Silicone oil with a high vinyl content (vinyl mole fraction > 1.5%) can significantly enhance the tensile strength (>8MPa) and elasticity of silicone rubber, enabling it to maintain stable performance even in extreme environments. In addition, the application of low-viscosity vinyl silicone oil (viscosity < 100mPa · s) in flexible electronic devices provides a new technical path for the manufacturing of foldable screens and sensors.
