Silicone oil is used as shock absorption and damping oil

Hits: 868 img

Silicone oil is widely adopted in the mechanical manufacturing and instrumentation industries due to its unique viscosity-temperature characteristics, wide viscosity range, excellent thermal stability, and high compressibility as a shock absorption and damping medium.

Engine durability enhancement:

In diesel engine torsional vibration absorption dampers, the use of high-viscosity (viscosity of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of mm²/s at 25°C) dimethyl silicone oil can effectively enhance the engine's durability and stability.

Automotive engine cooling system:

As a cooling fan damping oil for automotive engines, dimethyl silicone oil helps improve the efficiency and reliability of the cooling system.

Four-wheel drive vehicle clutch oil:

In four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles, the use of 10 Pa·s viscosity dimethyl silicone oil as clutch oil can optimize the switching operation of the drive mechanism, especially during sharp turns or when driving on In addition, as a damping fluid in pneumatic unit combination instruments, and as a filler oil in similar instruments, dimethyl silicone oil ensures the stability and reliability of instrument parameters.

Hydraulic unit combination instruments:

In hydraulic unit combination instruments, dimethyl silicone oil is used as a sealant fluid to ensure the stability and reliability of instrument parameters.

In 4WD vehicles, the use of 10Pa·s viscosity dimethyl silicone oil as the clutch oil can optimize the switching operation of the drive mechanism, especially in sharp turns or on rough roads (such as snowy or muddy roads) to enhance the vehicle's maneuverability and performance.

Damping oil selection:

Appropriate viscosity dimethyl silicone oil is selected as the anti-shock oil for automotive and aircraft instruments to ensure precise signal output and stable pointer readings according to different vibration power requirements.

Damping of sensors and instruments:

As the damping and shock-absorbing oil for the magnetic field sensor, dimethyl silicone oil can stabilize the output signal and improve the accuracy of the sensor.  In addition, as the damping fluid in the pneumatic unit combination instrument and as the filler oil in similar instruments, dimethyl silicone oil ensures the stability and reliability of instrument parameters.

Damping of liquid gyroscopes and accelerometers:

In flight automatic control systems, liquid gyroscopes and float-type accelerometers are adopted for their high sensitivity, precision, and stability.  These instruments use liquid suspension technology to reduce bearing load and frictional torque.  The requirements for the gyro float liquid include high density, suitable viscosity, low sensitivity to temperature changes, no corrosion to various materials, high boiling point and flash point, and good insulation properties.  Currently, full-floating gyroscopes commonly use fluorinated organic compounds, while semi-floating gyroscopes often use dimethyl silicone oil to meet these stringent performance requirements.
