Ethyl silicone oil has various advantages and wide application fields. The following are some common aspects:
-
Advantages:
-
Has excellent lubricating performance and dielectric properties;
-
The working temperature range is from -60°C to 150°C;
-
The temperature-viscosity coefficient is small;
-
Low volatility and low surface tension;
-
Non-toxic, non-corrosive, and resistant to aging;
-
Can be formulated into different viscosities.
-
Applications:
-
Used as a release agent for a variety of rubber and plastic products;
-
Widely used as an insulating material in the electrical industry;
-
Can be used as precision instrument oil, hydraulic oil, special lubricating oil, etc.
In the preparation of ethyl silicone oil, usually, Grignard reagent prepared by the reaction of chloroethane with metallic magnesium is used as a catalyst, ethyl orthosilicate is used as the raw material to react in toluene to prepare ethyl ethoxysilane, and then various ethyl ethoxysilanes undergo hydrolysis and condensation in the presence of hydrochloric acid to form polysiloxane ether. After molecular rearrangement and distillation under vacuum, ethyl silicone oil with various viscosities can be obtained.
