Due to the stability of the siloxane bond and the hydrophobicity of the methyl group, as well as the structural characteristics of the methyl siloxane polymer, methyl silicone oil has good heat resistance. It has a high flash point, is not easily volatile, has a low viscosity coefficient, high compressive force, low surface tension, chemical stability, good electrical (insulation) properties, and is resistant to water and moisture. It has no toxic effects on organisms (including humans). In order to form a thin film or make a rubber-like solid substance on the surface of other objects, methyl silicone oil can be cured by heating at high temperatures (250-300°C) or with appropriate catalysts (usually peroxides). The use temperature range of methyl silicone oil is 50-180°C.
